About Us :: What Is The Gospel?
The gospel message which can also be referred to as the “good news” is the true story of salvation – saving grace that rescues people from eternal condemnation and death – a gift that is made available for all of mankind only through Jesus Christ. This world has been fallen since the very beginning because of sins’ curse. Sin separates us from God and the only way God could bring the human race back into reconciliation with him would be to give up His only begotten son. Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in place of the human race and take upon Himself the punishment and penalty that comes from sins wages. Through God’s resurrection power. Jesus rose from the dead to live again so that He can manifest the gift of salvation in the lives of those that receive Him. Christ’s death on the cross is now the bridge over the separation between mankind and God that sin created. Jesus has payed the price over sin and death and anyone who chooses to receive this free gift from Him can be victorious over sin and death also. All that’s left for us to do is repent of our sins and ask Jesus Christ to be the Lord of our lives. We can pray something like this:
“Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner and I ask for your forgiveness for all of my sins. Jesus, come into my heart, make your home in me, and be the Lord of my life. I believe in You and your saving grace and I chose to receive the free gift of eternal salvation. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!”
The Eternal Crossover…
“The eternal crossover” is Crossover’s term for the gift of salvation that comes from the gospel. The term is deriver from Crossover’s theme verse found in John 5:24…
“I tell you the truth, whoever hears my Word and believes in Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life” (NIV)
These are the words of Jesus and He’s basically saying that believing in Him and His Word which tells us of the gospel and the gift of salvation will enable us to make the biggest crossover move we could ever make. Crossover moves on the basketball court can be effective but they’re only temporary – the crossover move Jesus talks of is one that last forever.
Statement of Faith…
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost: the saved to the resurrection of life and the lost to damnation. We believe in promoting unity within the Body of Christ.
Crossover International is nondenominational, and works with all denominations. We receive direction, provision for all our needs, and motivation directly from God and His Word to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. We strive to maintain servants’ attitudes. We dare to dream as big as God dreams for He is on our side and with Him, nothing is impossible. We strive for excellence in everything we do and we demand uncompromising quality of ourselves.
